Note: Again just a recap of some of the highlights of the show in no particular order and again no pics of the Green Day's show, but a couple of Prima Donna videos
Line up:
About 10-15 min. before going in there was some camera guy filming us
standing outside and I was gladly hiding behind all the many
tall ppl in front of me, and I figured would be likely a bavarian
channel, maybe even just the local munich one but then a guy stepped
on the barrier and said "This is gonna be MTV!" Oh great, whoopey, my favourite channel. And of course as you all know part of the show ended up being aired one month later on MTV World Stage. Exclusively here on The Whatsernames now though, you won't find this anywhere else, something that you didn't see on tv: with me being almost in the front row I got filmed a lot,
few times the camera guy stood right in the photographers pit almost in front of me
and me not really a fan of being on tv I looked away whenever he turned into my direction, but somewhere at the
end, forgot which song, I randomly looked at the guy when he was just
filming me and I thought oh what the hell and stuck my tongue out at him, and I was pretty sure it would be included actually, but it didn't, can't say I would mind though. And I suppose this is the point for me now to say "Gotcha!!" cause I'm sure you all expected some super spectacular Green Day scene to be mentioned. Ha
Prima Donna:
I was really looking forward seeing them again, I enjoyed there show in Berlin, and again they did a great show, they fucking rock and Kevin is a really great front man. I came this close to shaking his hand, during I think the second last song he went all the way to the right of the stage and disappeared, so I knew he must have jumped down, and he stayed out of sight for couple of seconds, then he finally walked past us and climbed up the barrier lil further behind me and sang with ppl and then started grabbing hands, so I thought what the hell, let's try it, didn't make it get a hold of it though. But I ended up snatching a part of there setlist, Kevin was handing out his into my direction and several ppl tried desperately to get a hold of it including me so naturally it ended up ripping, with me scoring nothing but a tinsy lil corner and the guy in front of me and the chick next to me getting the most, and I thought oh well never mind, but then the guy ended up just reading it and held it back asking who wants it and I made it to snatch it, so here's a ripped Prima Donna set list
And here are the videos, unfortunately the quality is not really the best, also you will notice the 3rd is just like 8 seconds long, that is because I turned the camera off cause I rather wanted to rock out with the crowd than standing still holding my camera up, I'm not one of those people
Green Day Highlights:
- After Knowledge Billie was grouping up the 3 guys, and was like "New Munich band right here. There called 'The Assholes'". Then the guy who played guitar and I think the bass player too wanted to take a pic and Billie said somehing like "A picture? What is it always with the pictures, everyone seems to have a camera these days", and the bass player didn't end up getting one cause he was lead down by Tre, who actually seemed to have gotten up just for that, and he after that he looked like he was gonna stay there but then Billie was like "Drum roll please!" for the Stage Dive and Tre noticed he forgot about that so he hurried back and started, but before the guy jumped Billie ended up taking a pic of the guitarist after all and while the guy was posing for Billie, Mike suddenly decided to sneak over and made him bunny ears and pulled one of his infamous grimaces and the guy was so busy posing cool he didn't notice anything, not the ears, not even Mike being there at all, and the whole situation was just so priceless and hilarious that when Mike had snuck back to his mic again and randomly looked at me I just couldn't help myself and said "Nice one!" to him and he was like "Thanks"
- Billie wet the crowd twice this time, during Brain Stew as usual and if I remember it right Hitchin' a Ride was the first time he wet the crowd with the hose. I love being sprayed with the hose and so when he kept spraying our spot after he hit me the first time I yelled at him asking if he could do me again and he actually did, and I ended up soaking really nicely and refreshed.
- I was interacting with both Tre and Mike couple of times, I made faces couple of times with both of them, I stuck my tongue out at Tre once after he smiled at me and he did it back and at the beginning of the show Mike stuck his tongue out sideways and winked at me and I replied without the wink and he did it a second time, I also blew a kiss at Tre once and he grinned and made a sort of approving shrug
- Mike also tried to give me a pick again several times, unfortunately unsuccessfully as usual (if we ever had to enter the World Championship of Catching and Throwing they should never pair us up), either they drifted off half ways or someone else snatched it, but you gotta love him just for trying to give you something. Later after the show was over he went off and got a hand full of picks and handed it to one of the security guys guesturing he should hand it out amongst us, and this time I was sure I'd get one but unfortunately I was left out by the guy
- Give me Novacaine was played by the entire band this time, in Berlin it was just Billie accoustic
- Before and after Hitchin' a Ride Billie played Mozart again and Tre sang Schnappi during his KFAD Introductions again
- When Billie shot toilet paper I tried to grab something again and this time I succeeded, I wanted to put it on my head but unfortunately it slipped right off again cause I only had a short piece and of course I couldn't find it anymore then
- During Billie's Minority Harmonica part Tre came to the front by crawling through Mikes legs again, always a funny sight
- The sweetest and maybe even the greatest part of the show was at the end of JOS (the last song before the encore), during the keyboard suspension part which they were doing extra long, a few girls next to me
where shaking there hands to it the way you do when youre about to do
the wave, and I joined in cause I was just thinking about a way to do
something with my hands too cause the suspension made you all itchy to do something, and Mike saw us doing that and seemed to be totally blown away by that and he was like I really
fucking love you, tapping with his fist on his heart and he looked
at each and everyone of us and I was the last one he looked at and cause he was so sweet I had to
give him a reply and I yelled we love you too and he was like "Aah!" and
he was sorta leaning back like getting hit by surprise that I said
that, but not in a pretend way, he really seemed surprised a lil and it was just such a sweet and great moment
- For the first song of the accoustic encore (Last Night on Earth) Tre and Mike joined Billie on stage again after the latter had started out the first part of the song alone
- After the song when I was still facing the stage after Tre and Mike had left again (I was looking for something in my purse it seemed I'd lost) when suddenly I noticed that Mike was sitting crouched down next to Jason's keyboard watching Billie play and at that moment you could really see how much Billie means to him as a friend, he was watching him in such a happy, almost proud way, it was just so sweet
